SAN GOL

The history of san luigi

The “SanGol” collection of handcrafted artifacts draws its inspiration from the remarkable story of an old Italian priest. Born in 1804 to a humble family in northern Italy, Father Luigi devoted his life to uplifting impoverished youth. He established orphanages equipped with soccer fields, using the sport to educate and instill essential life skills in the children. Often portrayed in sculptures and paintings holding a soccer ball, his legacy endures as a symbol of compassion and dedication. In 2001, the Vatican honored Saint Luigi Scrosoppi by naming him the Patron Saint of Football. This collection allows the passionate soccer fan to express their devotion and loyalty, and their wishes for their team's success, by channeling the goodwill of the Patron Saint of Football, SanGol.

Hand-crafted

SanGol is a collection of candles, framed fan art, pendants, and scapulars that merges traditional folk devotional art with modern sports culture. Created for the game-day ritual, each piece is designed to help fans express their passion in a meaningful, ritualistic way.

Every item is hand-assembled in my private home studio alongside my wife and a small team of talented artisans. From the first sketch to the final tied knot, I maintain full control over the design and production process to ensure each piece reflects the spirit, craftsmanship, and intention behind the collection.
